Appropriate, no? (mainly, these are here so I can remember the songs and not have to search you tube forevar)

My inner choreographer is dying to learn the basics and then play with some more advanced moves. Too bad tango is at the south studio this month. Poo.

    More wedding invite stuff
So none of the last ones worked for me.  I loved the turquoise one with the stars but it just didn't convey the tropical theme, and I thought all the tropical theme ones were kinda hokey.  But Joel found an awesome site with a bunch of cool invites.  So links below!

    Tiki bar

    Yellow with palm trees

    Blue and brown palm trees

    Cheap tropical one

    Island pretty one

    Hibiscus

    Cartooney

Thinking of doing postcards as the "reply" card - something like this, seems pretty appropriate and cheap enough (and on the back, would print out the typical reply card stuff...

Also, I thought doing engagement photos were silly, but we thought this picture would be perfect to print up wallet size (since its where we will be getting married, and we don't look completely like tards) and include with it.  Figure we'll do it at Target

Still have to decide on which I like the best and decide if I still think it's a sane idea tomorrow.  Opinions welcome!

Mermaid Dress (I just don't think I have the bod to pull this off, but I like!)

If anyone else wants to give opinions I would be mucho appreciativo.  Wedding is Vegas Polynesian themed.

Nothing's quite right - but it's a fucking invitiation, it doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to...invite.  I do have a pit full of artists outside my door.  I could always commision something I mock up in photoshop and get them printed myself, but...that sounds like work.  And I am anti work.  Keeping looking but I'd love ideas.

    Ohai, LJ
Haven't posted here in a long ass time.  Been blogging here, sorta.  What else...

Health and fitness-wise, I've been maintaining around 150 for a while.  Going through a seriously rigorous running training process is NOT a way to lose weight.  I feel like I could eat a horse most days.  I know it's because my body has become a calorie burning machine, but it still feels a bit weird.  I'm eating more right now than I have in years.  And my body will not put up with the idea of eating less.  I have been enjoying the fact that I can eat some stuff that I normally don't (hi2u subway meatball sub, come here lover) because it's a little too calorific.  I'm also looking forward to post-race taper time in July when I back down the food intake and the activity.  Actually, it scares me to death because I really like being able to eat like a pig, but I think by then my body will need a rest.  I'm trying to decide if I want to lose 15 more lbs or not after the race, though I am pretty happy where I'm at.

Speaking of half marathon training, I'm on week 9 this week.  Friday, I ran 10 miles before work.  My "short" runs are now 5 miles, which used to be my long runs.  Tomorrow, I'm going to do an unofficial 15k race which means 9.3 miles as fast as I can.  The half marathon is June 20, I'm excited!

Work has been busy but good.  I'm glad I have great employees and contractors, otherwise doing VO for an entire game in 6 months with a 3 person team (including me, who is anything but a sound engineer) with the script constantly changing/adding/etc would be nuts but we're getting by.  I've really enjoyed this process - it's been nice to be able to actually have my hands in a project instead of only managing stuff that I know little about.  It's also been fun to work with actors again and has been giving me the itch to maybe think about getting back into theatre someday.  So many things I want to do, so little time.

We went to Vegas and checked out the Tropicana wedding facilities, and it's a little cheesy but perfect for our theme.  Now, invitations and gathering addresses so we can get them out soon.  Vegas was crazy.  I'm glad to see even at the ripe old age of 30 I still have 2 back to back up past sunrise drinking nights in me.

Ummmm, I'm sure there's a lot more but LJ keeps almost freezing up on me so I shall bid adeiu and see you in another few months.  Or sooner mebbe.  Mebbe.

Since my site is full of spammers...
I'll post here.  I've been getting geeked up about trying to train for a half marathon because I am insane.  Here is my practice schedule.  I'm not actually targeting a specific race, there's not one I want to do in town until october, and that one is iffy because it's a week after our wedding.  I don't think race training includes a completely debaucherous couple days in vegas...  But I would like to run my own half marathon just to say I did it, even if it just consists of just under 5 of my laps around the neighborhood.  I could have a day party at the house where everyone else drinks and hangs out on the lawn and hands me electrolytes and water.  That could be kinda hilarious.  A really stupid idea, yeah, but it's making me giggle.

I'm also interested to see if it's possible to run a half marathon while still smoking about a pack a week of American Spirit Lights.

Anyhoo, here is the next 3 months of my life, training-wise...

Week Sunday (Day 1) Monday (Day 2) Tuesday (Day 3) Wednesday (Day 4)  Thursday (Day 5) Friday (Day 6) Saturday (Day 7) Total Miles

    So Crazy
Work and workouts have been eating my life during the weekdays and we've been out doing stuff on the weekends.  This is the first time I've had a chance to get on the internet pretty much since...Friday?

    Things I have done:
-ran another 10k (not official, just around the 'hood, trying to get used to the distance)
-lost another lb or so, I'm at 153.  Come on, below 150!
-got to see Doug Benson at the comedy club.  Was very hilarious, and so was his opening Grahm...someone or other.
-looked for a bicycle, think I figured out the one I'm going to get.  Can't afford a nice bikestore bike so I'm going with one from Academy that doesn't make my bony ass hurt, I think.
-Worked a lot of hours trying to wrangle everything into game for this deadline.  It has been nice to actually have things to do instead of just herding other people but I think I definitely was thinking
-Eaten a lot of fucking food.  At least for me.  There was burgers and wings and brownies and fried pickles and BBQ and mexican brunch and much much more.  I've been paying for it in the gym though so it's all copacetic.

Back to work, and crossing my fingers everything goes well.  Fancy pants martini party this weekend for Joel's birthday.  It's supposed to be butt ass cold but I am holding out hope that the weather will take pity on us!

Things to say to the internet
I've been updating the other blog regularly, but haven't been very motivated to update here.  But here I am.  So, since we last spoke, I have:

-Lost a little more weight.  I'm down to a new low of 156.8.  Goal for the end of the month is 153.  Less than 4 lbs to go!
-I've started running outside more.  I did almost 5.5 miles on Tuesday.  The reason I am doing this is...
-I signed up for my first 5k on 2/21.  Yay for settling one of my 3 goals before I'm 30.
-We are also putting a deposit on a site for our wedding and reception tomorrow.  The Tropicana in Vegas.  Woohoo!  Yay for goal number 2 of things I wanted to do before 30.   The only other thing is to find a doctor person and get a check up.
-I went to a dance-a-thon last Friday and I made it 3 hours!  I only got eliminated because I wasn't dancing hard enough, and honestly I was kinda bored of it.  This girl has stamina, yo.
-We've been playing eternal sonata, a 3 player jrpg [info]vpang  was awesome enough to have sitting around and we picked it up and it has been good much fun!
-Got my review and my raise at work.  Nothing noteworthy, just glad I still have a job and things there have actually improved somewhat.  I rarely want to kill people anymore.
-One of the reasons is I've barely been AT work.  We've been working out of a recording studio and I've ether been listening, doing the recording, or making some of the sounds myself.  Once things settle down in April/May with this particular project-within-a-project, I want to try to learn a little more about sound design, not just applying my design and producering (and theatre) experience to things I can help with.
-I am now yelp elite!  I've been trying to review everywhere I go and I guess that's good enough to be elite-ized.  I guess there are fun events each month that I now get invited to.  Yay!
-We checked out the Sarovar Baby Blue bar last night and it may become the neighborhood staple for us!  Totally cheap drinks poured with extra love (whiskey) and a cool crowd.  We ended up meeting and chatting with some bartenders from the Trudy's up the street who told us we had to visit them too, and a guy that was totally into MMOs and was hooked on EQ.  Unfortunately, I was dumb and stayed up too late, drank too much, and paid for it today.

Other than that, I've been enjoying the internet when I actually can get to it (no net in the studio), and been watching episodes of Hercules and Xena, Warrior Princess episodes.

This weekend is a purposeful chill one since we've had a lot of crazy.  While there are cool things afoot tomorrow downtown, we're just feeling the need to stay home and save money, and need to spend some time with the rents, and have a huge long nature walk planned on Sunday that should take a few hours.

Soon comes the birthdays of March.  I can't believe I only have 25 days of my 20s left.  I guess I can't really complain because pretty much every life goal I wanted to accomplish by 30, I have.  Good job, check.  Own property, check.  Find a super awesome love?  Chiggidy check.  Unpuff myself from my former bloaty state?  Almost there - and now it's just about the fine tuning.  While the number is a bit intimidating, I can't say I'm going into it with any regrets.  Now, to figure out how to properly celebrate this momentus occasion!

See ya in a few weeks I'm sure.

And chop down as many fucking cedar trees as I can.  Yesterday sucked, today still sucks.  You know it's bad when they say a count of over 1000 is high and it was 28 fucking thousand today.  I pretty much slept in naps last night and then woke up miserable for a while, rinse, and repeat.

    Oy, oy, oy.

At least I have no plans so I can just sit here in a benadryl coma.  And eat mexican food that is incoming soon.  Nom nom nom *snot*.

    Stuff and Things
Well, I haven't posted here in a while.  I've been posting here.  So there.  I even unfunktified my main site so maybe perhpaps [info]divineseduction  can see it at work.  Now with 100% less malicious code.  Wheee!

    Life in bullet points:

-Work has been hectic since the new year because I'm working on coordinating a huge shitload of sound work that should probably take a whole team six months to do.  We have myself, my full time guy, and a contractor monkey and about 2.5 months.  Wild, but fun.  I've never been on this side of talent auditions, I used to be the freaked out person on the other side of it walking into the room.  Have to say, it's nice being the one doing the casting.  Starting tomorrow, I also will be working most of the time out of a downtown studio, which while fun and all, is a much longer drive.  Bwah.

-I got back doing my strict counting calories thing and promptly lost 5 lbs the first week.  The second week, due to female type circumstances, I gained 4 back.  It's slowly going away but damn it, stop it!  I'm hoping to be done losing weight sometime this summer.  I'd really like to be.  Getting skinnier is such a process, staying the same is much easier.  They say its harder, but I did just fine at that all this fall/early winter.  It would be really, really nice to really and truly be done losing weight and while still perhaps thinking "gee, I could keep working on those muscles", not think, "gee, it would be nice to lose 5-10-130 lbs".  I'm still thinking somewhere in the next 10-30 lbs I'll get to a point where I think that (150-130) but we shall see.

-I've done 2 outside runs and I'm so excited for it to get springier so I can do it more.  I am totally going to do a race sometime before my birthday.  Just want to find one that doesn't start in the early morning....

-I've had MAD allergies the last 2 weeks.  Apparently, cedar has been having record highs here and it has finally affected me.  I hate taking medicine and I've been on claritin for the last 3 days.  It is supposed to be on the decline this week, and I am so very much looking forward to it.

-We saw Mr. Garriot talk about his space adventures last Friday.  I wrote about it here.  Not trying to continually whore my blog, did that earlier, but don't feel like retyping.

-I do not have a history about being terribly political, but I almost feel lighter-happier somehow that Bush is gone.  Maybe now we can start making some changes for the better.  I'm interested to see what his first 100 days holds!

Think that's about it.  Since the beginning of the month its been work, workout, eat super good most of the time, a few fun nights out, and mostly just trying to keep on truckin', making progress on things that must progress.

We just still need to figure out the wedding stuffs - that's probably the most stress-inducing thing in my life right now.  Now, we are thinking Vegas for both parts and a little party here for friends who can't make it after.  It just takes effort and time that I don't have to figure out how to get it all done for about 10 grand, while still feeling *grand and cool* enough to make me not feel sad. :P  And honestly, I am completely overwhelmed.  I would love to hire someone to just take care of it all for me - but then that's even LESS money to spend on the wedding itself.  Argh.  Every time I start thinking about it, I start almost feeling panicked and have an involuntary response of sticking my fingers in my ears and going "Lalalallalalala it will be fine if I just put it off more lalalalal".  Which totally doesn't help because the next time I think about it, the date is even closer.

Ok, I seriously need to stop talking about this, I'm getting stressed.  SEEE?  THIS IS WHAT I DO.  Argh.  SOMEONE OUT THERE PLAN MY WEDDING FOR ME, PLZ KTHX?  I want an island theme, I'd love the wedding part on a balcony or overlooking a courtyard outside (I guess I'm not 100% on that but I just don't want some cheesy indoor crappy chapel), and the reception part on a nicely island decorated area with an open bar and food somewhere in between caviar and a taco bar.  The other problem is we have somewhere between, I dunno, 30 and 90 people because my parents want to invite a bunch of people that they don't know if they'll come.  So bleh.  I asked people to ask who would actually be interested in coming and and then they just ignore me and keep asking me if I've made plans yet.  HARD TO PLAN!  Ugh.

Ok, this is just seriously turning into a rant.  Gonna stop now.

    Thai-dian Epiphany!
Just had an epiphany - I really want to start getting into thai and indian food (the tastes I've had of both are AWESOME), but since the jetsers is so allergic to peanuts and peanut oil, we've steered clear of restaurants.  However, there is nothing to stop me from looking up recipes and making my own creations!  Now, to the internet!  I'll probably edit this with some recipes to try soon later...

FYI, the new office is awesome.  5 minute commute (instead of 15+), much closer to restaurants and I can go home at lunch and eat (which is the plan most days), doesn't take 5-8 minutes to get from the driveway to parking garage to hamster tube to stairs to hallway to office, parking is right outside our office.  It kind of reminds me of my art/theatre building in college (the one I spent probably the most time in).  The only complaints I have so far is the skylight in my office beams light directly into my eyes from 10-11am, and its FRIKKIN freezing even with our portable heater (but that's to be fixed Monday so yay).

Just need to get through the day of pesky people actually wanting me to work on the Friday after new years (don't you know I just showed up to set up my office, check my email, and surf the web the rest of the day *#(*%&#!!!), get a kick butt workout in after work, and spend the evening soaking up alkyhol sitting on the patio in this super amazing January weather.

    *Dance*
Joel just told me that he found out that property taxes comes out of what we pay each month for our mortgage, and isn't on top of what we pay.  I seriously just got up and danced in my office.  I feel like a HUGE weight off my chest, a 5 thousand dollar weight even.

That coupled with my 3 lb loss last week - I guess I can take the other stuff in stride and be happy.  The universe is at least giving me some sugar to wash the medicine down with!

I am still blogging over here and not much here anymore.  If you wonder where I have gone, then there is your answer.

    Stuffs and stuffs
Sooooo...vacation stuffs here, Part 1, Part 2, Part 3.  Enjoy and be jealous. =)

The last week at work wasn't so bad, but most people were gone, so I'm expecting next week to get hectic again.  Oh well, not thinking about it for at least another 36 hours, heh.

This weekend was fabulousness so far.  Wednesday we just hung out, drank a bit, and had a pretty mellow night.  Thanksgiving, we got up and went to the gym before it closed at noon, I logged 5 miles in 52:10 - I'm pretty excited about that.  Then frantically got myself and the house ready for guests just in time for them to show up.  We drank wine, talked, ate delicious delicious food, and were merry.  We did get a game of texas hold 'em going and I won!  Woohoo!  My parents didn't leave until midnight, they seemed to be enjoying themselves.  Then, the shots flowed freely and we went to bed around 4am - I never stay up that late anymore.

Yesterday, we got up, had souper salad, and then went to target.  I tried on some clothes and found some new stuff to replace old stuff that is too big.  Then, I totally got shopping fevor and ended up hitting Ross and TJ Max and Walmart and a few other places.  I am now pretty much a size 10 in pants, which means I've lost at least a size while staying in the same 5 lb range.  I guess that means I'm still making progress.  I can't even list everything I got cuz I got a lot - but notably I did pick up a black and white pinstripe pants and jacket and a red shirt on way way way cheap clearance.  So now, Joel and I can be complete dorks and match with his pin stripe suit and red shirt.  We also got presents but I will not talk about any of that now *super secret*.

Today has been super relaxing.  We were going to go shopping again but failed to leave the house.  We made lunch of random leftovers, played some poker on the ps3, dorked online, did laundry, did a DDR workout, put up christmas lights, made yummy sketti with meat sauce and veggies, and have been watching a bunch of mythbusters and documentaries.  I guess when I type it out like that it seems like a pretty productive day.  Tonight the plan is to go out, probably out for a bit to meet up with everyone at the bars by T+V's house and then to somewhere up around the house to finish the night.  Tomorrow, to the 'rents house for game playing, pizza, and pool and hot tubness.

Gotta go figure out what to change into from my PJs.  Yes it's 8pm and I haven't left the house.  Heheh.  Laters LJers.

    Home!
Got back yesterday around 3:30 pm, ate food, passed out and watched tv intermittently all day.  Today, got up, dealt with the unpacking/laundry, went to pho-riday (numnumnum), dealt with more laundry, finished my vacation journal log thing, DDR'd and yoga'd (very hard when the world is still swaying), talked to the folks, and grabbed some Trudy's and been drinking my scrumdidlyumpsious mango absolut and pinapple diet soda.  The weather sucks here, but life is rad.

I'm on vacation for another weekend, and I refuse to think about anything more responsible than whether I should have another drink or not.  Besides the laundry needing to be put away SOMETIME in the next 3 days.

Vacation recap and ass-tons of pictures to come, but figured I should post a "home safe" type thing in case anyone is keeping track.  Off to consume more mangoey goodness and not freeze my pretty little lady balls off!

I don't just whine and poof, I promise
So I've been blogging here, and coming to LJ only to do unproductive whining I don't want on my page, sorry LJ peoples.  I just wanted to make sure people didn't think I poofed or had retreated completely into a little emo world.

Other than that, things are back to not being horrid at least in the near future, though I definitely have some thinking to do, just a few minutes away from the weekend, 4 day week next week, then vacation, yay!

    Yep
I forget who all is on this list, but I figured I would let everyone know that while our company did some massive head count reducing today, I still have a job.  Thankfully.  I think.  I'm in the process of shaking off the crappy mood that comes with good people being axed all around you, and drink and carouse downtown.

Happy Halloween, as happy as can be at least. :P
